Discover the Power of DTTC and PROMPT Therapy

Hands-on, Motor Learning Approach

DTTC stands for Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing, a therapy technique used to treat severe speech sound disorders, particularly childhood apraxia of speech (CAS)

(Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing) is based on motor learning principles and uses a combination of visual and auditory models to help shape articulatory movements. The therapy involves:

  • Integral stimulation: The clinician models auditory and visual models for the patient to imitate
  • Slowed rate: The therapy uses a slowed rate to help shape articulatory movements
  • Tactile cues: The therapy uses tactile cues to help shape articulatory movements
  • Cueing: The therapy starts with maximum queuing and then fades the cues as soon as possible

DTTC was developed by speech language pathologist Edith Strand, Ph.D., CCC-SLP.

PROMPT Therapy uses direct tactile cues on the face and neck to guide accurate sound production, providing an immediate connection between movements and speech clarity.

Enhances Speech Patterns

By integrating tactile, auditory, and visual feedback, we help children develop consistent muscle memory, crucial for fluent speech.

Step-by-Step Skill Building

Our highly structured sessions break down complex speech patterns, allowing children to build skills incrementally, leading to effective, independent speech.

Promotes Real-life Communication

With PROMPT Therapy, your child learns to use their skills functionally at home, school, and beyond, ensuring clear communication across all environments.

Who Can Benefit?

Children with Speech Delays:
Including those with apraxia, articulation disorders, and phonological delays, who benefit from targeted motor learning techniques.

Children with Neuromuscular Disorders:
Such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, or traumatic brain injuries, where motor-based guidance helps develop speech control and clarity.
